Courses Languages Indian Telugu

Telugu Alphabet (IPA)

The Telugu alphabet is used to write Telugu, a language spoken by roughly 75 million people predominantly in the Southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. In this course, the independent and modifying forms of the vowels and consonants are taught; the modifiers are shown with the letter క ('ka'). Note: The transliterations of the Telugu letters may not render properly on mobile devices; the letters 'ṭ' and 't' as well as 'ḍ' and 'd' look very similar; use your desktop if this occurs.
