Beginning and intermediate words in the Bemba language.
Note: verbs in Bemba begin with the infinitive "uku", or the shortened version "ku". The English equivalent to this is "to" as in "to go". The infinitive "uku" is removed when constructing verb phrases: "kuya" (to go) = "naya" (I go).
Also, the infinitive "ku" changes if the verb begins with a vowel. For example, the infinitive of "ita" (call) is "ku" + "ita" or "kwita".
