Gothic was the language spoken by the ancient Goths. The Goths split up in Visigoths (western Goths) and Ostrogoths (eastern Goths). The Visigoths established a kingdom in Spain which lasted for more then 200 years, and the Ostrogoths a kingdom in Italy, lasting for a 100 years. Their language is preserved by the bishop Wulfila, who translated the Bible into their language in the 4th century. They still spoke it in Pannonia (modern Romania).
