Zeno of Citium
Born in Citium, Cyprus and lived from about 334 to 262 BC. Founder of he Stoic school of philosophy.
Cleanthes of Assos
Born 301 BC in Assos, Lydia (modern Turkey). Originally a boxer, he became the sucessor to Zeno and second head of he Stoic school in Athens.
Born around 279 and died around 206 BC. Native of Cilicia, but moved to Athens. Pupil of Cleanthes. Became 3rd head of the Stoic school.
Born in Hierapolis in Phrygia (in modern Turkey) in AD 55 and died 135. As a boy, he somehow came to Rome as a slave but was later manumitted.
