The course provides a list of commonly used words with irregular kanji readings (熟字訓, e.g. 今日 = kyou in addition to konnichi) as well as 当て字 (kanji with different meaning chosen only for pronunciation, e.g. 寿司 sushi). I will add more when I become aware of them. Only a few 熟字訓 relating to plant and animal names, usually written in katakana, are included. All entries have been verified by at least two independent sources. Please send suggestions and corrections to yamada.asu@gmail.com.
