Found evidence of horizontal segregation with male and female employees being given different types of roles within the theme park. Catering assistants were mostly female and ride operators mostly male. Female staff were subject to continuous sexual harassment.

Argues that the work of female secretaries is governed by patriarchal images of the job. Secretaries rarely have a clear job description so their work is viewed largely in terms of femininity. Secretaries are “represented almost exclusively in familial or sexual terms”. Their role was seen as an ‘extension of their bosses’.
