What is a root asking?
What number times itself equals the number under the root. Ex: The square root of 100 is 10 because 10 times itself equals 100 and the square root of 9 is 3 because 3 times itself equals 9.
Take the two factors and put the square root symbol over both. Ex: The square root of 32, which has the factors of 16 and 2, becomes the square root of 16 and the square root of 2.
The process used to find the value or values that make an equation true.
Put the number and the square root back together.
