Uchinaaguchi is the biggest language of former Ryukyu Kingdom, now known as the Okinawa province of Japan. Although related to Japanese, the two languages are mutually unintelligible. Uchinaaguchi is an endangered language. Although the elderly of Okinawa still use the language, most young people only know a few words.
The language is generally written in Okinawan Hiragana, regular Katakana or a mix of Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. This course accepts roman writing as well as Hiragana.
